Older adults in our rural region have worked hard all their lives and should be able to continue living with independence, dignity, and care near their family and friends. That is why the Northland Foundation has always considered “Aging with Independence” a grantmaking and program priority. Northland Assisted Living is a charitable program of the Foundation aligned with this longstanding priority.
In 2006, the Northland Foundation developed Northland Village Assisted Living, a nonprofit LLC designed to provide a welcoming senior living option that offers laundry, housekeeping, meals, medication management, and other daily help. The first Northland Village opened in 2007 in the small community of McGregor and later expanded to Buhl and Hoyt Lakes. Each location has 20 private suites and comfortable common areas, with a team of friendly care staff supervised by an RN.
The Northland Foundation Board of Trustees and staff view Assisted Living as integral to our mission. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of older adults across the economic spectrum. In fact, the majority of our residents rely on financial assistance, and we are pleased to be able to serve them with the highest level of respect and care.
