About the KIDS PLUS Communities

Through the KIDS PLUS Community Planning Process, the Northland Foundation offers technical assistance and support to help communities identify the needs of young people and find ways to meet them. Since 1991, 26 communities have participated in this process to make needed changes and create more nurturing environments for children and youth.

KIDS PLUS Communities

A strong learning community has been developed among the 26 KIDS PLUS Communities. The KIDS PLUS Regional Alliance of Communities meets on a regular basis to:

  • participate in training and educational opportunities;
  • share information, ideas, and resources on best practices for youth programming; and
  • build a communication link between rural communities.

As a result, the Alliance helps enhance local and regional capacity to support children, youth, and families.
