Northland Village Assisted Living Communities
In April 2007, the Northland Foundation opened Northland Village – McGregor’s Assisted Living Community, the result of an exciting new vision to create homelike places where older adults live well and receive high-quality care within their own small, rural communities. This mission-driven initiative is aligned with our longstanding commitment to help older adults remain vibrant and valued, and have access to the resources they need to be as independent as possible throughout their lives.
A second Northland Village Assisted Living Community is now underway in Buhl, Minnesota, and will be ready to welcome residents starting in January 2009.
A Voice for Community

Northland Village residents and staff share a friendly rapport.
Mealtime is sacred at Northland Village. Not only does delicious, home-cooked food offer physical nourishment, but the camaraderie that residents have with one other and with staff members also delivers sustenance for the soul.
Gathering family-style around the table for food and conversation is a comforting ritual for people of a generation whose meals didn’t consist of drive-thru fast food. It also offers a glimpse into the welcoming atmosphere that the RN/Administrator, Cortney Buchholz, and the team of Care Attendants have created here.
Besides the private suites, sunny patios, raised garden bed, walking path, games and activities, and housekeeping, as well as special amenities for those with memory loss, Buchholz and her staff provide a friendly helping hand 24 hours a day. The people who call Northland Village home relish the independence they desire, along with the care they need, in the small community they know and love.
