20th Anniversary

In 1986, The McKnight Foundation and a dedicated group of individuals in the Arrowhead Region launched an exciting experiment. It was a new breed of philanthropic organization charged with combining grantmaking with economic development and direct business financing.

Twenty years later, the Northland Foundation has, with the help of the good people of our region, made a quiet but lasting impact. Together with the nonprofits, businesses, and communities we serve, we will continue supporting, strengthening and sustaining northeastern Minnesota for decades to come.
